Marilyn E. Rossetti
Marilyn E. Rossetti previously served on the Court of Common Council for two terms ending in 2003. Councilwoman Rossetti was re-elected, receiving the highest number of votes on November 5, 2019. She is presently the Chair of Parks, Public Works, and the Environment committee. Councilwoman Rossetti is also a member of the Health and Human Services committee and the Planning, Economic Development, and Housing committee.
Councilwoman Rossetti is married to Gregory Rose. She met Greg when they were both living in the West End of Hartford in the early 1990s. Marilyn and her husband were both born, grew up, and educated in the city that they both love. They have lived on Freeman Street since 1995. Marilyn and Greg share their home with a sizeable orange cat named Bertie.
Marilyn is presently the Executive Director of The Open Hearth Association in Hartford, where she has held that position since 2011. She previously was the Executive Director of HART (Hartford Areas Rally Together) until 2011. At the start of her career, she worked for over 20 years at United Technologies Research Center in a variety of capacities.
Councilwoman Rossetti graduated from Hartford College for Women (now the University of Hartford) with a degree in Liberal Arts in 1998.
She served as a Commissioner for the Housing Authority of the City of Hartford and as their chair for eight years until resigning in December of 2019 required per state statute as an elected official. She presently is a Corporator of the Hartford Public Library. She had served on Hartford Community Loan Fund on their Executive committee, First Night Hartford, Hartford Guides, and Journey Home.
Councilwoman Rossetti's commitment to the city is unwavering. She looks forward to the next four years.
