HARTFORD, CONN. (December 30, 2021) – On Thursday, the City of Hartford distributed approximately 8,000 at-home COVID-19 testing kits to Hartford residents. In coordination with the Hartford Public Library, COVID testing clinics, and other community partners, the City operated successful test distribution sites at seven locations.
"I'm grateful to our team and to all of our partners for getting thousands of tests out to our community today," said Mayor Bronin. "I want to thank the phenomenal teams in our Health, Fire, Police, and Recreation Departments, as well as at the Hartford Public Library, along with the volunteers who helped make this quickly-organized distribution effort possible. There are many more people waiting for tests, and lots of work ahead in the coming weeks, but we felt it was important to make as many at-home tests available as we could today."
Plans for allocation of additional test kits are still under development, including an anticipated shipment of kits from the State of Connecticut. Additional announcements will be made in the week ahead.
