Chavon Campbell, Director of the Office of Violence Prevention
Chavon Campbell is a dedicated leader serving in community engagement and organizational development for the last decade in the areas of academia, healthcare and non-profit management. He is currently serving as the Director of the Office of Violence Prevention and Community Safety for the City of Hartford. In this role, he provides strategic direction to address community violence through data-driven initiatives and partnerships, facilitating community engagement to promote equity in public safety and wellness.
Before joining the Mayor's Office, Chavon was the Director of Compliance and Data Management at Hartford Communities That Care, where he implemented several community projects while ensuring compliance with data reporting requirements. His previous experience also includes managing community health initiatives at Trinity Health of New England, where he over saw the health services for the homeless clinic, managed a DOJ project focusing on strategies to reduce child facility in urban communities, led and served on DEI committees and developed racial equity strategies for different hospitals in the area. Chavon was a program manager/campus ministry supporting youth, college student, young professional and families in the greater Hartford area.
Auralee Jumpp, Assistant to the Director of the Office of Violence Prevention
Auralee Jumpp serves as the assistant to the Director of the Office of Violence Prevention. A recent graduate of American University in Washington, D.C., she earned her Bachelor's degree in Justice and Law, with a minor in Legal Studies. Auralee’s commitment to public service is informed by her previous experience as an intern in the Hartford’s Mayor’s Office, with Senator Blumenthal’s Office, and at the New Britian Superior Court. She is deeply dedicated to helping individuals and empowering communities of color through education about their rights and public safety.
In her role, Auralee oversees critical administrative functions and provides organizational support to ensure the efficient operation of violence prevention strategies. She manages scheduling, drafts reports, and assists with the development and implementation of polices aimed at reducing violence in Hartford. Auralee also monitors data related to violent crime trends and collaborates with various city departments to track program performance. Her work helps the office maintain a focused approach to improving public safety and addressing violence in the community.
