 Public Notice 

In accordance with City of Hartford Municipal Code Section 29-16, the Hartford Police Department (HPD) is in possession of unclaimed found property. If you have lost property in the City of Hartford, contact the HPD Property Room at 860-757-4180 weekdays 7 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Please provide a detailed description of the property, the circumstances of its loss, and proof of ownership.

Positive Identification is required before property will be released. Found Property is held for six months after being turned in.

Kenny A. Howell

Chief Kenny A. Howell was sworn-in as a member of the Hartford Police Department on December 21, 2020 to the role of Assistant Chief and became the Acting Chief as of July 3, 2024. His Law Enforcement career began in 1991 with the New Haven Police Department where he served for over 21 years. Prior to joining HPD, Chief Howell was the Chief of Police in the town of Millbury, Massachusetts.

Our Compstat program is a dynamic and informative presentation.
