Get New or Replace Lost or Damaged Trash/Recycling Bin

Step 1.Confirm your property is serviced by the City of Hartford

The City of Hartford, Department of Public Works, collect trash and recycling from the following properties

• Single family home
• Multifamily 6 units or less
• Condo association of 6 units or less

All others, please contact your management company or landlord for assistance.

Step 2.Confirm Your Payment Method

The City of Hartford accepts the following payments for replacement of trash bins:

• Money orders
• Cashier checks
• Credit card for payment (processing time may be longer)

No personal checks accepted at this time, we apologize for any inconvenience.

Step 3.Place Order

Currently replacement trash can orders are accepted in person by visiting the Transfer Station. Recycling bins are free and can be ordered via phone by calling 860-757-9970.

1. Trash bins can be delivered directly to your home or property.  Delivery time is 5 to 10 days
